HOME ALTAR

Home Altar is a trifold altar book containing three prayers for mothers and maternal caregivers: Capitoline Wolf, the mythical she-wolf who suckled the twin founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus; Ellen Ripley, the protagonist of the Alien movie franchise; and Coatlicue, the Aztec goddess of fertility and death, mother of the moon and stars, and the patron of women who die in childbirth. These poems are also collected in Slightly Plural.
